Liberty caps were a prominent motif in Revolutionary America as iconic symbols of liberty and resistance against arbitrary British rule. These caps, also known as Phrygian caps, were inspired by ancient Roman symbols of independence and were adopted by revolutionaries as a representation of their struggle for freedom. Represented in prints, drawings, and political cartoons perched atop a high “Liberty Pole,” the liberty cap became a powerful emblem of the revolutionary spirit. The Liberty cap represented a rejection of tyranny and the assertion of individual rights and self-governance.
These earrings feature the Liberty Cap perched atop a dangling pole and includes reproduction 18th-century wool broadcloth, acrylic, .925 sterling silver posts, and a maple veneer backing.
This item is packaged in a beautiful black gift box with the original period imagery and historical information vetted by a museum curator. The box is perfect for gifting or storage!

Orders ship in 2-3 days from our studio in Vermont. Depending on the US region, orders can take anywhere between 1-7 business days to be delivered. We will continue to find ways to reduce shipping costs and pass those savings on to you.

Returns:
Sometimes things happen and we would like to opportunity to set it right. Damaged items can be returned within 10 days of receipt (with the exception of sale items). Once we receive the returned item(s), we will issue a refund back to your credit card minus the cost of shipping. We do not refund shipping costs.
To start the return process, please send an email to returns@dittohistorical.com along with an explanation and any photographs.
If the outer carton is damaged, contact your local carrier for inspection and to file a claim. Always retain all packing materials, as the carrier will need to inspect them.
